The 2nd Annual Scientific Conference of the Nigerian Spine Society

The 2nd Annual Scientific Conference (and anatomic specimen course) of the Nigerian Spine Society held in Lagos, Nigeria from the 23rd to the 24th of September, 2022. It was themed: Advances in lumbar spine surgery, and it witnessed many local and international faculties/speakers with huge turn out by participants and vendors. Advances in endoscopic spine surgery, cadaveric dissections and live surgery sessions were the highlights of the convention.

The event was wrapped up by the Annual General Meeting and election of new executive council members to direct the affairs, birth a renewed hope and set the agenda for the future of the association.

The membership of NSS is open to Orthopaedic Surgeons, Neurological Surgeons, and Trauma Surgeons interested in Spine care. With a membership strength of over 70, we hope to build local capacity to deliver on our mandate of improving Spine health in Nigeria. 

Our activities include, but not limited to:

  1. Monthly webinars
  2. Advocacy 
  3. Welfare of members
  4. Fellowship opportunities for members through local and international collaboration 
  5. Education of the general public through onsite and online educational materials 
  6. Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference.

The next convention is scheduled for the FCT, Abuja in September 2023.
